About the Work

Akin James is een multidisciplinaire designer met roots in Curaçao. “In dit werk zet ik drie iconische Amsterdamse ontwerpers in de spotlight: Viktor & Rolf, Iris van Herpen en Duran Lantink, zij vertegenwoordigen voor mij het verleden, heden en de toekomst van avant-garde mode. Ze inspireren iedereen die durft anders te zijn. Voor mij is de modestad Amsterdam bijzonder omdat je hier jezelf écht kunt uitdrukken.”

Akin James is a multidisciplinary designer with roots in Curaçao. “In this piece,
