Amsterdam Illustrator Boris Lyppens pays tribute to his grandmother Joëtta Honnebier (1934–2018), founder of the Max Heymans Foundation and a key figure in Amsterdam’s fashion scene. A close friend of couturiers like Frank Govers and Max Heymans, she helped define the city’s avant-garde style.

“My grandmother was a true enabler of fashion. She opened the Catwalk exhibition in 2016 with Erwin Olaf and later donated the foundation to the Rijksmuseum’s fashion department. My work is a tribute to her and to the Amsterdam avant-garde fashion scene of that time. She was a true fashion enabler.”
