Fashion designers and models have been fans of the work of this glamorous artist for years. Her fashionable portraits are known for their stylish, determinedly quick brush strokes and powerful expressions.

"It's about the expression and the energy." In her early years Astrid only used markers, nowadays she also works with paint, chalk, adhesive tape and typex. With wide brushes I put the lines on paper in one movement.”
After art academy in Arnhem she moved to Paris, where she drew the fashion trends for various styling and fashion agents. After ten years she returned to Amsterdam, where she worked for another decade as a draftsman for various advertising agencies. But she missed fashion and decided to return to her fashion roots. From 2016, she posted her illustrations on Instagram. Her work quickly stood out; when the popular artist Donald Drawbertson named her as one of his favorite artists, fans and followers followed. Fashion designers and other creatives, such as top makeup artist Pat McGrath, designers Jeremy Scott and Marc Jacobs plus many top models, including Anna Cleveland, started reposting her work. A few months after her 'Instagram launch', L'Oréal Paris booked her for Paris Fashion Week on the occasion of the launch of their 'Gold Obsession Party'. She attended all the shows and drew the models' beauty looks backstage. Astrid still loves the challenge of Live portraits during fashion shows and parties. The energy of the event flows directly into her drawings.
